Here on the Chalkboard Club web site you'll learn about money, how to save and spend. You'll also learn about your credit union account and what some of the important terms mean. Just click on the Googolplex link above. We offer educational coloring books for all elementaryschool age levels. These books, with advance request notice, are also available free for teachers to use in their class curriculum. Chalkboard Share Account
Chalkboard Accounts are open to children from birth to seventeen years old. The minimum savings deposit for this share account is $5.00. The parent or guardian must fill out the appropriate documents to open the account.Chalkboard Club Schools
Chalkboard Club provides a weekly pick up of deposits at participating schools. A drop box is located either in the school office or school cafeteria. A balance of $10 must be reached within a six-month time frame. Contact the Credit Union regarding current schools participating in the program.Incentives
Chalkboard Club provides stickers, pencils, erasers, and colorful paper pads as incentives for each deposit. Free crayons and educational coloring books are also available to active club members. When you open a Chalkboard Club Account, ask for your child's free savings bank. Ask your teller for more information.College Fund Share Certificates
Chalkboard Club members may open a College Fund Share Certificate with a minimum deposit of $100.00. The certificates are offered for a term of 12-months. If funds are withdrawn prior to 12-month expiration, a penalty equal to 180-days of dividends will apply. Additional deposits may be made to this certificate account during its current term.Dividends
Dividends are earned quarterly based on the average daily balance at 1% less than the regular share rate until the balance reaches $50.00. Dividends are compounded quarterly and shall be paid on the last day of the quarter. Dividends are computed on the average daily balance of the Student Account, provided the balance is $10.00 or more. Contact the credit union for the current dividend rate.
